The school board needs

1. Leaders Who Operate with Integrity

  • A commitment to working together, openly and honestly in all interactions guided by a strong professional code of conduct.
  • An understanding of the importance of balancing morale in an era of intense financial constraints.
  • A focus on results and constant evaluation of progress toward established goals.
  • Respect for the input of the community as documented in the HCRHS Strategic Plan 2026-2031 Goals.
  • Free of any conflicts of interest with the board and the school administration.

2. Demonstrate Fiscal Responsibility

  • Protect taxpayers' interests by evaluating the impact of all budget decisions.
  • Encourage a full annual review of capital reserves and timelines.
  • Utilize private-sector techniques like zero-based budgeting principles where appropriate to drive savings.
  • Make the hard decisions that taxpayers demand.
  • Treat the school as a valuable community asset that helps preserve local property values.

3. Policies That Put Students First

  • See students as priority investments, not an expense, in every budget decision.
  • Encourage consistent, open communication with students and empower them to be partners in their learning experience.
  • Create a "Future-Ready" environment that empowers students with the skills necessary to thrive in an evolving global landscape. Prioritize academic excellence in literacy, math and science for future success.
  • Support the whole student through academic opportunities and extracurricular options, with a focus on mental health resources as a priority.
